A better world exists through Christ.
It starts here and now.
It starts at Harvard University.
Imagine a world in which the leaders of every Fortune 500 Company and Wall Street hedge fund embodied the generosity and ethical fortitude of Christ.
Imagine a world in which the writers and directors of America’s most popular TV shows and movies pursued stories of love, self-sacrifice, compassion, and justice; stories that pointed to the redemptive character of God instead of pointing to sex, violence, and general moral depravity.
Imagine a world in which our political leaders, reflecting a gospel of redemption and reconciliation, spoke love, encouragement, and righteousness to citizens of countries across the free world.
There’s no question that Harvard is the most respected institution of higher learning in the world. Our alumni include eight U.S. presidents, three hundred fifty-nine Rhodes scholars, and sixty two living billionaires. Unfortunately, while Harvard is known for many things, it is not known for producing many Christian leaders.
Consider also that nearly sixty (60) percent of millennials raised in churches leave the church or their faith at some point during their first decade of adulthood. (1) Simultaneously, the number of Harvard freshmen identifying as atheist or agnostic has grown by twenty (20) percent since 2017. (2)

The Solution
Next year, I will be interning with Harvard College Faith and Action, one of Harvard's largest Christian fellowships (HCFA) and a campus ministry of Christian Union (CU). Christian Union is an organization dedicated to producing bold, devout Christian leaders at every Ivy League school, and eventually, each of the nation’s top schools.
As a freshman, I was really afraid and intimidated by Harvard’s hedonistic party culture and intense occupation with status and wealth. HCFA provided me with caring Christian friends, engaging theological Bible studies, and opportunities to engage my campus with the Gospel. I’ve gained brothers and sisters in Christ for life, and my relationship with God has grown stronger than ever.
I feel called to invest the community that sustained me and my faith throughout college. Over the course of the school year, I’ll be:
Working alongside five seminary-trained ministry fellows to create an environment conducive to the forging of a generation of theologically literate, evangelically passionate Christian world leaders.
Pursuing and gathering male freshman students and teaching them in theologically rich Bible Courses
Receiving training and mentorship by a staff member as I explore a call into ministry.
My Calling
How You Can Help
Unfortunately, due to budgetary constraints, CU can only pay half of my salary for the year. Boston is an expensive city, and in order to live here and have the resources to do my job well, I need to raise $20,000 to cover rent, utilities, public transit, food, and other cost of living expenses from July 2017-June 2018. I am so passionate about seeing God move on Harvard’s campus and witnessing God redeem the world through its graduates.
Would you be willing to partner with me to see God make Christian leaders at Harvard?
In order to meet this goal, I am asking for gifts of $50, $100, $200, or any other amount God lays on your heart. Please make your check out to Christian Union and send it back to me in the envelope provided. To ensure your gift is tax-deductible, please do not write my name anywhere on the check. My first deadline is Saturday, June 17, so a quick response would be greatly appreciated!
I so cannot wait to see Harvard transformed by the Gospel. I can’t wait to get started! Thanks so much for your support!
Our Mission
Kent County is one of the most severely underserved communities in Tennessee. To combat this adversity, Project Sprout seeks to nourish our neighbors at the most fundamental level with healthy food options and a strong support network. All members get a portion of each harvest and surpluses are donated to low-income families whose work schedules prevent them from volunteering.

With ten gardens and counting, Project Sprout has seen a significant improvement in mental and physical health for all participating community members. Other than lowering obesity, blood pressure, and depression rates, the crime rate has also fallen. Our children are doing better in school, reporting higher grades and aspirations, and better job prospects.
Get Involved
If you live near one of our gardens, get involved to receive portions of each harvest. We accept volunteers regardless of skill level. There is a rotation in roles, but we’ll teach you all the skills you need to know. Teenagers 14 years and older can earn community service credits for school in addition to getting produce for their families. Donations are also vital to our growth, as we use them for seed, fertilizer, tools, and outreach.
